Who is responsible for your information
PCB Assembly for Small Batches is a trading name of Singular Holdings Ltd (company number 17337246, registered office Ground Floor, 77 Chiltern Street, London W1U 6NW). We are the controller of the personal information described here. For any question about your information, or to use your rights, email hello@pcbassemblyforsmallbatches.co.uk.
What we collect
- When you send a request: your name and email address, your project's name and what it does, how many boards you want, your answer about equivalent parts, and the design files you upload (Gerbers, drill file, bill of materials, placement file, schematic).
- When you book an intro call: the booking details you enter in our calendar (name, email, the time you choose and any notes), and the call itself if you join it.
- When you order: your delivery address, phone number if you give it, the quote, payment records, and everything we record while building your boards (parts used, inspection and test results).
- When you email us: your messages and anything you attach.
- Technical information: to protect our request form from abuse, we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your internet address for a short time, so we can limit how many requests come from one connection. We do not use it to identify you.
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
Why we use it, and on what legal basis
- To answer your request, check your design and quote, at your request before a contract: the lawful basis is taking steps to enter into a contract with you.
- To build, inspect and deliver your boards, and to handle questions or faults afterwards: the lawful basis is performing our contract with you.
- To keep business and tax records: the lawful basis is our legal obligations.
- To keep our service secure and to improve it, for example limiting abuse of the form, and learning from jobs which questions and checks we need (using summaries rather than your personal details): the lawful basis is our legitimate interests, balanced against your rights.
- To email you about your request and order. We do not send marketing emails unless you have asked for them.
Who we share it with
We share only what is needed, and only with the people and services that help us run the service:
- Supabase stores our database and your uploaded files, in London.
- Vercel hosts our website and runs its server code, in London.
- Resend sends our emails, from the EU (Ireland).
- Cal.com runs our booking calendar. Calls take place on Google Meet.
- Google (Gmail) and Namecheap handle the email we receive at our address.
- The engineer who checks your design, who is bound to keep it confidential.
- Our suppliers receive only what they need for your order: the board maker and stencil maker receive your board files; parts distributors receive the parts list; our courier receives your name and delivery address.
Some of these companies are based in, or may access information from, outside the UK (for example in the United States or the EU). Where that happens, the transfer is protected by the UK's adequacy regulations or by the standard contractual safeguards approved under UK law. The board maker we use may also be outside the UK; we will tell you where your boards are made when we quote.
We do not sell your information.
How long we keep it
- Requests that don't become an order: deleted, with their files, 12 months after our last contact.
- Orders: the order and payment records are kept for 6 years after the end of the financial year, as UK tax law requires.
- Design files for orders: kept for 12 months after delivery, so you can reorder the same boards without sending them again, then deleted. Ask us if you would like them deleted sooner, or kept longer.
- The scrambled internet addresses used to protect the form: kept for no longer than 30 days.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. Some rights depend on the legal basis and may be limited, for example we have to keep tax records. To use any of these rights, email us; we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk, or 0303 123 1113.
How we protect it
Everything you send travels over an encrypted connection. Your files are kept in private storage, and only our own staff can see requests and files, after logging in. We give suppliers only what they need for your order.
Cookies and similar technology
Our website does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Our booking calendar is provided by Cal.com and may use the cookies it needs to work; see Cal.com's privacy policy. Our private back office, used only by our staff, stores a login in the browser.
Changes
If we change this notice, we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you.
