Terms
Terms for assembly orders
Last updated: 3 November 2026
1. Who we are
PCB Assembly for Small Batches is a trading name of Singular Holdings Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17337246. Our registered office is Ground Floor, 77 Chiltern Street, London W1U 6NW. You can contact us at hello@pcbassemblyforsmallbatches.co.uk.
In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Singular Holdings Ltd, and "you" means the person or business placing an order.
2. What these terms cover
These terms apply when we assemble printed circuit boards for you from your design files. We buy the parts and the bare boards, assemble and inspect the boards, and post them to you. We do not design circuits, write firmware or certify products.
If you are buying as a consumer (for purposes that are wholly or mainly outside your trade, business, craft or profession), you have legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other consumer law. Nothing in these terms takes those rights away. Where a section applies differently to consumers and businesses, it says so.
3. Estimates, quotes and your order
- The estimate on our website is a guide, not an offer. It is worked out automatically from your files or your answers and uses typical part and board prices.
- Before we quote, we check your design. We may come back to you with questions or a list of issues we found. You decide whether to build as it is or to send a corrected design.
- Our quote sets out the price, what is included and an expected delivery date. It is valid for 14 days, because part prices and stock change.
- The contract starts when you accept our quote in writing (by email is fine) and we confirm. You accept the quote for one specific revision of your design. Any later change is a new revision, which we check and quote again.
- We may decline any request, for example if we cannot build it to a good standard or safely.
4. Your design and files
- The design is yours, and so is the responsibility for it. We build to your files. We do not guarantee that your circuit will work as you intend, or that it meets any law, standard or certification (for example UKCA or CE marking, electrical safety or radio rules). Our design check looks for problems that would stop the board being built correctly; it is not a design review of your circuit.
- Your files must be accurate and complete. If they contain mistakes, such as wrong footprints, rotations, polarity or part numbers, and we build to them, that is not a fault in our work. Where we spot a problem, we will tell you.
- You confirm you have the right to use the design and to ask us to build it, and that building it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
- Safety. Tell us if your board uses mains voltage, high currents or lithium batteries. We may limit what we test or decline the order. You are responsible for the safe use of the boards you receive.
5. Parts
- We buy every part ourselves, new, from authorised distributors. We do not fit parts supplied by customers.
- If a part in your bill of materials is not available, and you have agreed to this when sending your request, we may fit an equivalent part with the same value, rating and footprint. We will tell you what we changed.
- Parts we bought for your order that are left over belong to you, and we post them back with your boards.
6. Price and payment
- Prices are in pounds sterling. Our quote states the total you pay, including parts, bare boards, stencil and postage, and whether VAT applies.
- We ask for payment in full before we order anything. Work starts once your payment has cleared.
- If we find, after you have paid, that we cannot complete your order (for example because a part has become unavailable and there is no equivalent you accept), we will refund what you paid for anything we cannot deliver.
7. Delivery
- We deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom only, by tracked post.
- Delivery dates are estimates. They depend on the board maker and on part deliveries. We will tell you as soon as we know of a delay. If you are a consumer and we deliver more than 30 days after the agreed date, you may cancel and get a refund for anything not delivered.
- The boards become your responsibility when they are delivered to the address you gave us. They become yours once we have received full payment.
8. Changing or cancelling an order
- Boards are made to your design, so the usual 14-day right to cancel an online purchase does not apply to them (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 28(1)(b)).
- Even so, you can cancel at any time before we order parts or boards, and we will refund you in full.
- If you cancel after we have ordered, we will refund what you paid, less the costs we have already spent and cannot recover, such as bare boards made to your design, stencils, and parts we cannot return. We will show you these costs.
- To change or cancel, email us with your order reference.
9. If something is wrong
We inspect every board before it leaves us. If you think there is a fault in our work (for example a bad solder joint, a missing part, or a part fitted in the wrong place or the wrong way round compared with your files), email us as soon as you can, with photos and your order reference.
- If you are a consumer, the law says the boards must be as described and of satisfactory quality, and our work must be done with reasonable care and skill. If they are not, you can ask us to put it right. Within 30 days of delivery you can reject faulty boards for a refund. After that, you are entitled to a repair or replacement, and if that is not possible or does not fix the problem, a price reduction or refund. These rights are explained further by Citizens Advice.
- If you are a business, we will repair the faulty boards, rebuild them, or refund the part of the price that relates to them, at our choice, provided you tell us within 30 days of delivery. We may ask you to return the boards to us so we can check them; we pay for the postage if the fault is ours.
- A problem that comes from your design or files, from parts you specified, or from how the boards were used, handled, modified or powered after delivery, is not a fault in our work.
10. Our responsibility to you
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
- If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable. If you use the boards for a business, we are not responsible for loss of profit, business or opportunity.
- If you are a business, we are not responsible for loss of profit, revenue, business, data or opportunity, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you for an order is limited to the price you paid for that order.
11. Confidentiality and ownership
- Your design and files remain yours. We use them only to check, quote, buy for and build your order, and to help you with it.
- We share only what each supplier needs: the board files with the board and stencil maker, the parts list with distributors, and the design with the engineer who checks it, who is bound to keep it confidential. Our privacy notice explains how we handle personal information.
- We will not show photos of your boards publicly unless you have agreed. If you need a separate confidentiality agreement, ask us before you send your files.
12. Everything else
- If something outside our reasonable control (for example a supplier failure, a shortage of parts or a postal strike) delays or prevents our work, we will tell you as soon as we can and agree a new date with you, or refund you for work we cannot do.
- We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one shown on our website when you accepted our quote.
- If a court finds part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
- If you have a complaint, please email us first: we will reply within 5 working days.
